Orlando: The City Beautiful

The idea: Orlando is often viewed through a filtered lens as just a theme park destination, overshadowing its rich natural ecosystems and thriving local culture. For a city that serves as a hometown to over 350,000 residents while welcoming roughly 143 million global visitors each year, the Disney-centric stereotype misrepresents the true diversity and authentic character of the “City Beautiful”.

The Evolution: This poster collection challenges that perception by highlighting three fundamental pillars of the Orlando experience: Wildlife, Goodlife, and Nightlife. By utilizing a cohesive vintage aesthetic, characterized by muted colors, flat illustration, and subtle textures, this series harmonizes city’s identity as a vibrant hometown and global destination. From the native swamplands and the swan-filled waters of Lake Eola to the high-energy entertainment of International Drive, the project provides a balanced visual tribute to the city's multi-faceted identity.
